Description:
Around The Bay is an event run by Bicycle Network in Melbourne, featuring a number of ride courses from 20 to 300km, wholly or partially on closed roads, and featuring a number of things you normally aren’t allowed to do like riding across the West Gate Bridge. It’s not a race, but times are recorded.
This ride features “The Classic”, a 210km ride heading anti-clockwise from Albert Park to Altona, Little River, Geelong, Queenscliff, then taking a ferry across to Sorrento, Safety Beach, Mordialloc, and finally back up to Albert Park again.
But as the training ride last time left me out of battery at the 170km mark, and I’d decided to bring enough stuff to make the bike weigh 45kg, would I make it?
